CLEMSON, SC - On October 31, 2008, the Clemson volleyball team played host to Virginia in its Dig for the Cure match presented by Tigertown Graphics. The Tigers recorded 54 digs that night, the most in a three-set match this season, and posted the win over the Cavaliers. In doing so, they raised $4,133 toward breast cancer research that was donated to the Upstate South Carolina Chapter of the Susan G. Komen Foundation.

Dig for the Cure is a nationwide initiative in which schools and universities across the nation take part in an effort to help prevent and raise awareness for breast cancer through research, education, screening, and treatment made possible by their donations.

Two sponsors were very instrumental in helping the Tigers raise money. Tigertown Graphics donated pink t-shirts that were sold during home matches and Firehouse Subs donated a portion of their sales throughout the month of October toward the effort.

Fans or businesses were also able to pledge money per dig earned by Clemson in the match, or make a flat donation during home matches.

The Clemson Athletic Department would like to thank Tigertown Graphics for their title sponsorship, Firehouse Subs for their contributions, and Central Spirit.

Thank you to everyone for your support in helping make Dig for the Cure a success.
