Volleyball Leads ACC in Two Categories

Tigers top conference in hitting percentage, blocks.

CLEMSON, SC -- The Clemson volleyball team leads the ACC in two statistical categories, hitting percentage and blocks per game. In the Tigers' four matches this season, Clemson has posted a .336 hitting percentage and is averaging 3.19 blocks per game.

The Tigers rank fourth in the league with 14.63 kills per game and are fifth with 13.44 digs per game. Clemson is sixth in the ACC with 1.63 service aces per game.

Clemson senior middle hitter Stephanie Schulz leads the conference with a .575 hitting percentage. Junior Cindy Stern ranks fourth with a hitting percentage of .361, while junior Skye Frost is eighth in the ACC at .311. Junior Alison Coday rounds out the top ten with a .309 hitting percentage.

Stern is fourth in the ACC with 1.56 blocks per game, followed by Schulz, who ranks fifth with 1.44 blocks per game.

Sophomore Melissa Kudelka ranks fourth in the league with 11.14 assists per game, and Frost is tenth with 2.73 digs per game. Coday is ninth in the league with 3.57 kills per game, and Stern currently is tenth with 3.44 kills per game.

Clemson (3-1) is ranked 33rd nationally this week in the USA Today/AVCA Coaches' Poll. The Tigers play host to Auburn and Central Florida this weekend in the Big Orange Bash at Jervey Gym. Clemson plays Auburn Friday at 7 p.m. Auburn will face Central Florida Saturday at 4 p.m., and Clemson will play Central Florida Sunday at 2 p.m.
