CLEMSON, S.C.- The 17th-ranked University of Maryland women's volleyball team remained unbeaten by overcoming a two-game defecit to defeat Clemson University on Saturday at Jervey Garvey Gym.
Clemson (17-3 overall, 5-3 ACC) stormed out of the gate to win the first two games by scores of 15-10 and 15-6. But the undefeated Terrapians (17-0, 8-0) bounced back dramatically winning the third game, 15-13, and then going on for victories in game four, 15-8, and game five,15-12.
Cindy Stern led the Tigers with 24 kills, Alison Coday added 20 kills and Stephanie Schulz had 16 kills. On defense, Stern led the Tigers with 3 blocks, while Coday added 21 digs. Elizabeth Efron led Maryland with 23 kills.
The Tigers return to action on Friday, October 24 when they host ACC rival NC. State. Maryland next travels to Duke to face the Blue Devils on Oct 23.
