Coaching Highlights:
Jodi Steffes made a successful transition from player to coach in 2003, and she completed her second season with the Tiger coaching staff in 2004. Steffes was a member of the Tiger volleyball team from 1998-2001. As a right-side hitter she helped lead the 1999 team to a 31-3 overall record and 15-1 ACC record, the first ACC regular season title in Clemson volleyball history.

During her Tiger career, Steffes was Clemson's first four-time All-Region honoree and was a three-time All-ACC second-team member (1999-2001). She was named the 1998 ACC Rookie of the Year and that same year was named to the ACC All-Freshman team. Throughout her career at Clemson, she was named to seven all-tournament teams. Steffes ranks fifth on the all-time list for most attempts (3,600) and kills (1,422), ranks eighth in block assists (288) and ninth in service aces (132). She ranks second on Clemson's all-time defensive saves list with 1,309 digs and was named to the ACC's 50th Anniversary team.

She is responsible for team travel, opponent scouting, day to day administrative duties, as well as assisting in recruiting and game management. Steffes trains the outside hitters and defensive specialists. In 2003, she coached Leslie Finn to All-ACC honors after she totaled a team-best 568 kills. Finn certainly benefited from Steffes' guidance in 2004, as she was awarded AVCA honorable mention All-America honors, as well as All-Region and All-ACC for the second consecutive year.

The native of Elwood, IL, graduated from Clemson in 2002 with a degree in elementary education. While completing her student teaching, Steffes served as the head coach of the Walhalla High School volleyball team. She coached the team to the regional playoffs in 2002.

Playing Career
In 2000:
Earned second-team All-ACC honors for the second straight year...has a chance to become Clemson's first four-time selection to the all-region team... named to the 2000 AVCA Division I All-East Region team...a member of the first-team All American Farm Team...selected to the Big Orange Bash and the Auburn Invitational All-Tournament Teams...led the team in kills with 465 and with a 4.31 kills per game average...first on team with .310 hitting percentage...first on the team with 350 digs...second on team in total blocks with 77...reached double figures in kills in 25 out of 30 matches...ranks 10th on all-time list for most attempts (2654)...has tenth-best career hitting percentage (.281)...ninth-best career kills total (1037)...eighth on all-time defensive saves list (1040)...ranks 10th in career block assists with 221.

In 1999:
A member of the All-ACC second team and a big reason Clemson had a 31-3 season...named to the ACC All-Tournament team...selected to the AVCA All-District III team for the second consecutive season...named ACC Player of the Week (10/25)...was third in the ACC with 0.39 service aces per game...ranked seventh in ACC with .308 attack percentage...ranked fifth in ACC with 2.98 digs per game...recorded 22 kills and 13 digs in Clemson's win at NC State...tallied 18 digs at Virginia and at North Carolina...had eight block assists versus Florida State...hit .346 with 13 kills in Clemson's 3-0 win over Virginia in the semifinals of the ACC Tournament...recorded nine kills and 12 digs against Indiana in the NCAA Tournament...led team with 44 service aces and 334 digs...ranked third on team with 70 blocks...ranked second on team with 68 block assists...ranked third on team with .308 hitting percentage...reached double-figures in kills in 12 matches...reached double-figures in digs in 19 matches...a member of the Michigan State Classic All-Tournament Team and the Clemson Invitational All-Tournament Team...chosen by her teammates as Clemson's Best Practice Player.

In 1998:
Starting right side hitter in all 33 of the Tigers' matches...chosen ACC Rookie-of-the-Year...also team Rookie-of-the-Year...a member of the ACC All-Freshman team and the AVCA All-District team...named to the St. Louis Billiken Invitational All-Tournament Team...three-time ACC Rookie of the Week (9/28, 10/26, 10/9)...tallied 205 of her 356 digs against ACC competition...posted 11 double-doubles...had 19 kills and 31 digs, both career highs, in Clemson's 3-2 win at Wake Forest (10/21)...recorded 24 digs at home against the Demon Deacons (10/10)...led the Tigers with 14 kills, no errors and 26 attempts for a .538 hitting percentage against second-ranked Penn State in the second round of the NCAA Tournament.

In High School:
Lettered in volleyball two seasons at Providence Catholic...led the team to the regional finals in 1997...named Frankfort Mokema Star Player-of-the-Year, a first-team member of the Joliet Herald News and the Chicago Sun Times all-star teams, and an Illinois all-state selection...played club volleyball for the Spikettes, a team out of Chicago, coached by Jim Fitzgerald...coached by Nan Airola...born February 6, 1980...majoring in elementary education.
