The Clemson women's track & field team will travel to Atlanta, GA this weekend to take part in the Yellow Jacket Invitational at the George C. Griffin Outdoor Track Complex. Friday will feature the hammer throw, while Saturday will play host to the remainder of the events.

Clemson has two NCAA East Region qualifiers so far this season in Renata Miyamoto (triple jump) and Krystal Woods (javelin throw). Miyamoto tied her personal best in the triple jump with a mark of 40'7.75" last weekend at the Clemson Relays. Woods set a personal best in the javelin in the same meet, scoring a toss of 144'7".

The hammer throw will be held Friday evening and Clemson will have two performers taking place in that event. Della Clark, the school's #2 all-time performer in that event, looks to top her season-best mark of 159'7.75". Rochelle Kokayko will also compete in the hammer for Clemson.

The shot put will be the first event on Saturday, with Clark and Allison Bradshaw entered from Clemson. Also at the same time around 10:30 AM, Woods will look to improve on her regional mark in the javelin. Beth Jordan and Krissy Thompson are entered in the pole vault at 1:00 PM, while Miyamoto, Tonya Nwankwo, and Charmayne Smith will compete in the long jump during that same time period.

Jenny Barton will compete in the 3000m steeplechase at 1:00 PM to begin the running events for the Lady Tigers. At 1:40 PM, Patrice McMillan and Casey Phillips will run the 1500m. At 2:25 PM, Polly Hardy will join Miyamoto in the 100m hurdles. A trio of student-athletes from Clemson will compete in the high jump at 2:30, Katie Farnan, Felicia Hawthorne, and Anni Korhonen.

Competing for Clemson in the discus at 3:00 will be Woods and Catheryne Porter. Nwankwo and Smith will be in the triple jump competition around that same time. On the track during that time will be Sierra Hill and Ope Sobanjo in the 400m dash. At 3:40 PM, the 100m dash will feature Hardy of Clemson. In the 800m, Clemson will enter Thea Dix, Candice Johnson, Caroline Rash, and McMillan.

Hill will join Tia Perry in the 400m intermediate hurdles to be held at 5:00 PM. In the next event, Randi Hinton, Hardy, and Sobanjo will compete in the 200m dash. At 6:05, Sunday Ford, Lauren Marriott, and Ashley Robinson will take to the track in hopes of winning the 5000m run. The final event of the afternoon Saturday will be the 4x400m relay. Clemson will have one team running in that competition.
