CLEMSON, SC - The Clemson women's track and field team will open its 2005 outdoor campaign this weekend as the Lady Tigers travel to the Alabama Relays. Clemson will begin competition on Saturday at the Sam Bailey Track and the meet will conclude on Sunday with the 4x400m relay at 4:50 PM.

The Lady Tiger pole vaulters will open competition at 10:00 AM on Saturday, as Kristin Thompson, Beth Jordan, Sara Young and Helen Kirkland represent Clemson in that event. At 11:00 AM, Catheryne Porter and Krystal Woods will compete in the discus throw. The Lady Tigers' first running event, the 100m hurdles, will begin at 11:05 AM, and that field will include Clemson's Polly Hardy and Renata Miyamoto. Jessica Earp and Danielle Whaley will represent the Lady Tigers in the 100m dash at 11:40 AM, then Michelle Rogers and Jessica Earp will contest the long jump at noon. The women's 800m run field will include Clemson's Patrice McMillan at 12:30 PM, and Jennifer Barton will compete in the 3000m steeplechase at 1:15 PM. At 1:30 PM, the high jump field will include Anni Korhonen, and the women's 200m dash scheduled for 2:10 PM will feature Polly Hardy, Danielle Whaley and Renata Miyamoto. The women's shot put is slated for 3:00 PM and that field will include Della Clark and Allison Bradshaw. Casey Phillips will compete in the 1500m run scheduled for 3:55 PM to conclude the Lady Tigers' day one competition.

On Sunday, the Lady Tigers return to action early, as the hammer throw will commence at 8:00 AM. Della Clark, Allison Bradshaw and Krystal Woods are slated to compete in that event. At 12:30 PM, Michelle Rogers will compete in the triple jump, followed by Clemson's 4x800m relay at 1:35 PM. Krystal Woods will represent the Lady Tigers in the javelin throw at 2:00 PM, with the sprint medley relay team set to compete at 2:20 PM. Clemson' s 4x200m relay will wrap up the Lady Tigers' competition at 3:35 PM.
