CHAPEL HILL, NC - The Clemson women's track and field team completed competition at the 2004 ACC Outdoor Track and Field Championships held this weekend on the campus of the University of North Carolina on Belk Track at Fetzer Field. The Lady Tigers scored 69 points at this year's meet to finish sixth, and the Lady Tigers' 4x400m relay team of Silja Ulfarsdottir, Christina Smith, Jessica Cousins and Randi Hinton won that event to wrap up the meet. Silja Ulfarsdottir and Gisele Oliveira earned All-ACC honors as individuals on the second day of the championships.

Silja Ulfarsdottir was a scorer for the Lady Tigers in the 400m dash, crossing the finish line in 54.11 to place fifth. Christina Smith scored for Clemson with an eighth-place finish and time of 14.44 in the 100m hurdles. Silja Ulfarsdottir earned All-ACC honors in the 400m hurdles, finishing second with a time of 58.40, and Christina Moore placed eighth in 1:08.98. Sudati Musasu placed sixth in the 800m, scoring for the Lady Tigers with a time of 2:12.16. Casey Phillips recorded a time of 4:22.27 in the finals of the 1500m run, finishing 11th. In the first running event of the day, the Lady Tigers' 4x100m relay team of Silja Ulfarsdottir, Shakirah Rutherford, Randi Hinton and Jessica Cousins finished fourth with a time of 46.35. The Lady Tigers' 4x400m relay team of Silja Ulfarsdottir, Christina Smith, Jessica Cousins and Randi Hinton captured the event title with a season-best time of 3:37.28. This was the third 1600m relay title for the Lady Tigers all-time and the first 4x400m relay title since 2001.

 

 

Gisele Oliveira captured her second consecutive triple jump title at the outdoor meet with a leap of 43'5.25". Katrina Moultrie posted a mark of 37'1.75" and Michelle Rogers jumped 37'0.25" to finish ninth and 10th, respectively. Della Clark led Clemson in the shot put, finishing 10th with a mark of 43'0.5". Allison Bradshaw threw 39'4" to place 13th in the shot put. Krystal Woods finished sixth in the javelin throw with a mark of 133'1" to lead three other Lady Tigers in the event. Katie Pickett posted a mark of 114'9", Silja Ulfarsdottir threw 111'2" and Christina Moore recorded a mark of 82'5" in the javelin.
