CHAPEL HILL, N.C. - The Clemson women's track and field team concluded competition on day two of the ACC Championships in 10th place with 12 points. The Lady Tigers qualified seven sprinters for the finals of three events on Saturday. One of the day two highlights was Gisele Oliveira's performance in the long jump. The senior from Porto Alegre, Brazil, earned All-ACC honors in the long jump with a second-place finish and provisional qualifying mark of 20'3".

On the track, Randi Hinton qualified for the 60m finals with a season-best time of 7.60. Danielle Whaley also competed in the semi-finals of the 60m dash, recording a time of 7.71. Three Tigers qualified for the finals of the 200m, led by Jessica Cousins time of 24.40. Hinton recorded a time of 24.58 and Silja Ulfarsdottir crossed the finish line in a season-best time of 24.59 to advance to the finals. Danielle Whaley ran a 25.50, Sierra Hill posted a season-best of 25.67 and Polly Hardy finished with another season-best time of 25.86 in the semifinals of the 200m. All three Lady Tiger who competed in the 400m preliminaries qualified for Saturday's finals. Ulfarsdottir led Clemson with 54.89, Cousins posted a season-best of 56.12 and Hill crossed the finish line in 56.38. Jennifer Barton recorded a season-best time of 5:09.55 in the preliminaries of the mile, and Thea Dix and Patrice McMillan competed in the 800m. Dix recorded her season-best effort with a time of 2:15.53, and McMillan finished the race in 2:19.65. Both Lady Tigers who raced in the 60m hurdles recorded season-best times, as Polly Hardy posted a time of 8.63, and Renata Miyamoto clocked an 8.73 in the preliminaries of the event. The Lady Tigers' distance medley relay team of Patrice McMillan, Tia Perry, Thea Dix and Casey Phillips finished ninth with a time of 12:20.29.

 

 

Oliveira led Clemson in the long jump with her second-place finish and season-best mark of 20'3". Katrina Moultrie recorded a mark of 18'0.5" and Michelle Rogers finished in a tie for 15th with a season-best mark of 17'3.25". Renata Miyamoto also competed in the long jump, placing 18th with a leap of 16'7.25". Anni Korhonen and Felicia Hawthorne represented Clemson in the high jump. Korhonen cleared 5'3" to tie for 12th and Hawthorne had a clearance of 5'1" to finish in a tie for 15th.
