CLEMSON, SC - The Clemson women's tennis team will be in action this weekend at the Duals In The Desert in Cathedral City, CA. The three-day tournament will begin on Friday, Oct. 31 at the Moore Tennis Academy at the Desert Princess Resort.

The eight-team field consists of the 2008 national champion UCLA Bruins and five other teams, including the Tigers, who reached the NCAA round of 16 last season. Baylor advanced to the semifinals, while Northwestern was an Elite Eight team. Miami and Texas fell in the round of 16, and perennial top-20 programs Southern California and North Carolina round out the field at this year's Duals In The Desert.

All nine members of the Clemson team made the trip, headlined by preseason #2 Ani Mijacika and newly crowned Southeast Regional Champion Josipa Bek. Seniors Federica van Adrichem and Alexandra Luc, who both won their first-round matches at the regional last weekend, will also participate. Estefania Balda and Ina Hadziselimovic represent the junior class, along with Mijacika, while Laurianne Henry, who did not play last weekend due to an injury, is the team's lone sophomore. Rookie Keri Wong performed well at the regional, reaching the quarterfinals to improve to 6-1 for the fall.
