CLEMSON, SC - Members of the Clemson women's tennis team will be in action this week at the Wilson/ITA Southeast Regional Championships. This year's tournament will be held at the Leighton Stadium in Winston-Salem, NC and will be hosted by Wake Forest University. Play will begin on Wednesday, Oct. 22 with the prequalifying singles while the qualifying rounds and main draws of singles and doubles will follow. The tournament will conclude on Monday, Oct. 27.

Federica van Adrichem will be the only Tiger player competing in the qualifying singles round. The senior from Amersfoort, Netherlands earned the #1 seed in the bracket and will face Arielle Van Strolley of UNC Greensboro on Thursday. Van Adrichem currently owns a 4-2 record for the fall season.

Six players then earned spots in the main draw of the singles tournament, led by 9-16 seed Josipa Bek. The rookie native of Osijek, Croatia boasts a 4-2 record through her first two collegiate tournaments. Junior Ina Hadziselimovic will face fourth-seeded Ella Nze of Duke in her opening round match, while classmate Estefania Balda will take on North Carolina's Sophie Grabinski. Keri Wong will open against Blanca Saenz and Alexandra Luc will match up with Natalie Araya of Middle Tennessee State.

In doubles action, Van Adrichem will partner with Bek as the number eight seed in the main draw while Wong and Hadziselimovic will team up and Luc and Balda will pair together. As the number eight seed in the tournament, Van Adrichem and Bek will receive a first-round bye. The other two Tiger tandems are seeded 9-16.

The winners of the regional will receive a bid to the ITA National Indoor Championships in November. Clemson junior Ani Mijacika has already earned an invitation to the tournament and will not compete this week in Winston-Salem.
