GREENSBORO, NC - Rising junior Estefania Balda was named to the 2008 All-ACC Academic Women's Tennis Team, as announced today by Commissioner John D. Swofford. Balda was named to the team for the second consecutive season.

ACC Women's Tennis Scholar-Athlete of the Year Kristi Miller of Georgia Tech heads up the 2008 team. Duke, Georgia Tech, Miami and Virginia Tech each placed three players on this year's All-ACC Academic Women's Tennis Team. To be eligible for consideration, a student-athlete must have earned at least a 3.00 grade point average for the previous semester and maintained at least a 3.00 cumulative average during her academic career.

In addition to Miller, this year's team features a second three-time honoree in Virginia Tech's Inga Beermann. Clemson's Estefania Balda, Miami's Romy Farah, Georgia Tech's Amanda McDowell and Miami's Laura Vallverdu are other repeat selections from 2007.
