CLEMSON, SC - The 2008 NCAA Division I women's tennis selection announcement will air between 2 and 2:30 p.m. Eastern time, Tuesday, April 29, on ESPNews. By winning the ACC Championship, Clemson received an automatic bid to this year's championships and is awaiting its draw.

The NCAA Women's Tennis Tournament field consists of 64 teams that will be divided into 16 regional sites. The winners of the regionals will then advance to the NCAA Championships to be held at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center in Tulsa, OK. Generally, the top 16 ranked teams are awarded regional sites.

Regional action will begin on May 9 with the round of 16 scheduled for May 15.

The Tigers (15-9) are currently ranked 13th in the Fila/ITA Tennis poll. They are riding a 10-match winning streak that includes three straight wins at the ACC Tournament. Clemson has earned a bid to the NCAA Tournament in each of the last six years and has played host to four straight regionals.

ESPNews is located on DirecTV channel 207/DishNetwork channel 142. In addition, the ESPNews audio signal is available on the ESPNews channel on XM Radio and SIRIUS Radio.
