Coin was honored for the third time this season

GREENSBORO, NC - Clemson women's tennis player Julie Coin was named the ACC Women's Tennis Co-Player of the Week. The sophomore from Amiens, France, earned the honor for the third time this season, sharing this week's honor with NC State's Loni Worsley.

Clemson's top-seeded Coin, ranked 28th by the ITA in singles, defeated No. 98 Karin Coetzee of Wake Forest 7-5, 6-2, and Myrna Brown of NC State 6-0, 6-1, in conference play last week. She teamed up with Laurence Jayet at flight one doubles to defeat Wake Forest's Schwartz and Smith 8-2, then claimed an 8-1 decision over the Wolfpack's Bawono and Torres. Coin helped lead the Tigers to their first win over Wake Forest since the 1993 season. She has a 22-4 overall record in singles, and a 10-2 record in dual match play. In doubles, Coin is 17-4 overall and 10-2 in dual matches.

The Tiger women's tennis team returns to action on Saturday, Mar. 15 as Clemson plays host to Furman at 1:00 PM at the Hoke Sloan Tennis Center.
