Clemson Women's Tennis Team Ranked 19th By The Intercollegiate Tennis Association

CLEMSON, SC - The Clemson women's tennis team is ranked 19th according to the poll released by the ITA on Mar. 5. The Tigers moved into the top-20 in the rankings for the first time since the 1996 season when Clemson finished the season ranked 19th nationally. Clemson is 8-2 overall, most recently upsetting #14 South Alabama by a score of 4-3 in Clemson.

Clemson holds a 29-4 all-time advantage over N.C. State. Last season, the Tigers won a 6-1 decision over the Wolfpack in Clemson. N.C. State is 3-2 overall this season after defeating Boston by a score of 6-1 last weekend. The Wolfpack are scheduled to play sixth-ranked Duke this afternoon in Raleigh.

The Tigers have a 15-17 overall record against Wake Forest. In 2002, Clemson fell to the then-eighth-ranked Demon Deacons by a score of 4-1 at the NCAA Regional in Winston-Salem. The Tigers' most recent win over the Deacons was in 1993, when Clemson won a 7-2 decision at home. Wake Forest, ranked 51st by the ITA, is 1-10 on the season. The Demon Deacons most recently fell to #25 Illinois by a score of 5-2.
