Clemson Women's Tennis Defeats Hawaii

CLEMSON, S.C. - The Clemson women's team defeated the University of Hawaii Wahines 6-1 on Monday afternoon in Hawaii. With the win, the Tigers improve to 7-6 overall. Clemson swept the doubles matches to earn the doubles point. The Tigers' team of Laurence Jayet and Alix Lacelarie defeated Hawaii's Stacy Hakikawa and Lauren Fitzgerald by a score of 8-5 at number one doubles. At flight two doubles, Clemson's Anna Dolinska and Anna Savitskaya were victorious over the Wahines' Birgitte Brubakken and Polina Kravets, 8-1. At number three doubles, the Tigers' Ana Stiglic and Richele LeSaldo defeated Paige Mainor and Justine Boutet, 8-3. In singles action, Clemson freshman Alix Lacelarie defeated Stacy Hakikawa by a score of 6-1, 6-1 at number one singles. Lauren Fitzgerald defeated Clemson's Richele LeSaldo 6-3, 6-0 at number two singles. At flight three singles, Anna Dolinska of Clemson defeated Hawaii's Birgitte Brubakken by a score of 6-4, 0-6, 6-3. The Tigers' Ioana Paun defeated the Wahines' Polina Kravets 6-3, 6-2 at number four singles. Clemson's Ana Stiglic claimed a 7-6(0), 6-2 victory over Hawaii's Justine Boutet at the five singles position. The Tigers' Milena Stanoycheva was victorious in the six singles slot over Hawaii's Lyndsey Thomas, 6-0, 6-1. The Tigers will play the face Oklahoma on Mar. 20 in Hawaii.
