CLEMSON, SC--Clemson senior Devrin Carr won in both singles and doubles competition Saturday to lead the Lady Tigers to a 5-4 victory over Indiana at the Hoke Sloan Tennis Center. The win increased Clemson's record to 2-0 under new coach Nancy Harris.
Carr, the only senior returning letterman on the team, won at number-five singles over Indiana's Christy Sharp, 6-3, 6-4, then teamed with Christina Oldock at number-three doubles to defeat Sharp and Jessica Anderson, 9-7.
Clemson also had singles wins from Stefanie Woerz, Catherine Galvin and Kate-Maree Mair. For Galvin, it was her 10th singles win of the season against just five losses.
Indiana's Correne Stout won at the number-one singles with a 6-4, 1-6, 7-5 win over Clemson's Etresia Kruger. That was the only three-set match of the competition.
Clemson, which opened the season last week with a win over College of Charleston, will play host to Georgia next Saturday at 12:00 Noon at the Hoke Sloan Center.
