Overview: Talented sophomore who earned her first ITA singles ranking after just five weeks of collegiate action ...played in the top half of the line-up in the 2007 spring season, including a few stints at #1 in the middle of the year ...expected to again battle for a top spot this spring ...has been a great addition to the doubles line-up as well, moving into the doubles poll late last season with Ina Hadziselimovic ...had success in the classroom in her first semester and was named to the 2007 Academic All-ACC Women's Tennis Team.

Fall 2007
Singles:
• Ranked #24 in regional rankings
• Was 5-5 in the fall season
• Went 2-1 at MCC Collegiate Invitational Championships in September
• Invited to qualifying round of the Riviera/ITA All-American Championships. Fell in the opening round
• Won her first round match at the Wilson/ITA Southeast Regional before suffering a three-set loss in the next match
• Had a 2-1 record at the Duals In The Desert In November with straight set wins over Fresno State and Baylor.

Doubles:
• Partnered with three different teammates for a 5-7 record during the fall
• Ranked #32 in the preseason with Carol Salge
• Had a 3-2 record with Salge
• Pair placed second in the flight two bracket at the Furman Fall Classic in late September
• With Salge, won opening round match in the qualifying rounds at the Riviera/ITA All-American Championships before falling
• Was 2-4 with Laurianne Henry. Pair went 2-1 at the MCC Collegiate Invitational in mid-September and fell in the flight one finals.
• Duo teamed again at November's Duals In The Desert, but fell in all three matches in the number two bracket
• Fell in only match played with Samantha Eppelsheimer, a 6-8 defeat at the Wilson/ITA Southeast Regional Championships in October.

Spring 2007
Singles:
• Posted a 16-8 overall record with a 7-3 ledger against ACC competition in her first semester of action, playing primarily at flights two and three
• Won her first match as a Tiger, defeating Link Leskosky of the College of Charleston on Jan. 27 by a 7-6(5), 6-1 margin at flight two
• Won two matches at the USTA/ITA National Team Indoor Championships at the number-two position, including her first over a ranked opponent (#28)
• Earned her first collegiate ITA ranking after the four-match winning streak, entering the singles poll at #84
• After a loss to #62 Monika Dancevic of Georgia, rattled off six straight victories as the Tigers began ACC play
• Fell to Audrey Banada, 1-6, 2-6, in Clemson's ACC Championship semifinal loss to Miami
• Won both matches in Clemson's regional action to help the Tigers advance to the NCAA Round of 16
• Fell in the final match of the season, suffering a 6-2, 6-1 loss to #22 Nina Henkel of California in the NCAA Round of 16.

Doubles:
• Compiled a 13-8 record in doubles play with four different partners
• Paired with Ani Mijacika in the first match of the season, posting an 8-2 win over Evans and Dowse of the College of Charleston at flight two
• Teamed with Carol Salge for a 3-3 record during the spring
• Fell in only match played with Selma Babic, an 8-4 decision to Dancevic and Kelley Hyndman of Georgia
• Partnered with Ina Hadziselimovic 14 times during the spring, including the last 10 matches of the year
• Tallied a 9-4 record with Hadziselimovic with an unfinished match in the quarterfinals of the ACC Tournament
• Win over North Carolina's Collins and Marand was Balda and Hadziselimovic's first victory over a ranked opponent as the Tar Heel tandem was listed 19th
• Entered doubles rankings in the following week at #41
• Remained in the polls for the rest of the season.

Before Clemson
• Won three career ITF women's circuit doubles titles and one singles crown
• Ranked #1 in South America for under 14's, under 16's and under 18's
• Listed as high 39th in the ITF rankings
• Won several tournaments as a junior player
• Born June 30, 1987.
