College Soccer Team Academic Award Winners Announced
Nov. 19, 2003 Clemson is one of 48 schools to be honored by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) by having both the men's and women's soccer teams earn the NSCAA Team Academic Award for the 2002-03 school year. Clemson is one of two ACC schools to have both its men's and women's teams honored by the NSCAA. A total of 336 intercollegiate soccer programs (71 men, 265 women) posted a team grade point average of 3.0 or higher, thereby earning the NSCAA Team Academic Award for the 2002-03 school year. Of that total, 48 schools had both their men's and women's programs recognized, including 23 schools that received double honors for the second consecutive year. Clemson is one of the 23 schools to receive the double honor for the second straight season. The awards will be presented at the College Coaches Luncheon on Thursday, Jan. 15, 2004, as part of the 57th Annual NSCAA Convention, to be held in Charlotte, N.C., Jan. 14-18, 2004. The Clemson Women's Soccer team had 18 players to be named to the ACC Academic Honor Roll. The Tiger men's soccer team had 10 players honored by the ACC.
