CLEMSON, SC - The Clemson women's soccer team will travel to Tallahassee, FL on Thursday to face sixth-ranked Florida State. The game between the Tigers and Seminoles is scheduled to begin at 7:00 p.m. at the Seminole Soccer Complex. Thursday's game will be the first of four Atlantic Coast Conference road games for Clemson, three of which are against opponents that are currently ranked in the top 13 in the nation.
Clemson is 5-7-1 overall and 1-4-1 in ACC play, most recently falling to Miami 1-0 in double overtime at Riggs Field. The game against #6 Florida State will be the Tigers' fifth against a top-15 ranked opponent so far this season, with three of those contests coming against teams ranked in the top six nationally.
Julie Bolt leads the Tigers with nine goals and one assist for 19 points on the season. The senior forward ranks second among all conference players in goals per game (0.82) and third in points per game (1.73). Junior midfielder Molly Franklin ranks second on the team in scoring with eight points on two goals and a team-best four assists. Sophomore Paula Pritzen has posted 62 saves in over 1141 minutes in goal for Clemson.
Florida State has a 12-2-1 overall record and a 6-1 ledger in league play, most recently defeating #16 Wake Forest 5-0 and #9 Duke 5-2. The Seminoles are led by sophomore Sanna Talonen and freshman Tiffany McCarty with 23 and 22 points, respectively. Junior keeper Kate Milstead has recorded 48 saves and given up just nine goals on the season for Florida State.
Clemson has a 7-9-2 record in the series against the Seminoles, which dates back to the 1995 season. In 2007, Florida State defeated the Tigers by a score of 2-0 at Riggs Field.
