CLEMSON, SC - Clemson women's soccer player Katie Vogel has been invited to the US Under-20 Women's National Team Training Camp. The sophomore midfielder from Marietta, GA will be competing for a spot on the 26-player roster for the United States' Under-20 National Team. The national team will play in the CONCACAF (Confederation of North, Central American and Caribbean Association Football) Qualification, with hopes of advancing to the FIFA U-20 World Championship in Chile in November of 2008.

Vogel will report to camp at the Home Depot Center in Carson, CA on Saturday, April 5 and will spend nine days training with many of the nation's top under-20 players. The camp will consist of daily training sessions, intersquad matches and games against collegiate women's soccer teams. Players will also attend a special seminar led by women's soccer legends Mia Hamm, Julie Foudy and Amanda Cromwell.

Vogel is a two-year starter at midfield for the Clemson women's soccer team. In 2006, she was named to the ACC All-Freshman team, Soccer America All-Freshman Second Team and the Soccer Buzz Southeast Region All-Freshman team. She has collected four goals and six assists in two seasons for the Tigers.

"I am looking forward to the challenge of growing as a player against other great players," said Vogel. "It will be a great experience to measure up and see where I stand after going through the first part of the spring season at Clemson. I think it is every players dream to be a part of our national team program, so this is a very exciting opportunity for me."
