Women's Soccer Defeated by UNC in ACC Women's Soccer Touranament

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C.-After falling behind for only the third time this season, the top-seeded North Carolina Tar Heels rallied in the second half to defeat fifth seeded Clemson 3-1 in the semifinals of the 10th annual Atlantic Coast Conference Women's Soccer Tournament at Spry Soccer Stadium Friday.

Clemson jumped out to an early lead as Sheri Bueter scored on a one-one-one breakaway to put the Lady Tigers up 1-0 at the 35:56 mark. The Lady Tigers held off a barrage of shots from UNC before Tar Heel forward Cindy Pawlow powered in a Rebekah McDowell pass over goalkeeper Suzanne Putnam's head to tie the score at one all.

Just over 10 minutes later Rakel Karvelsson took a lead pass from McDowell and angled in North Caorlina's second goal at the 68:44 mark. Karvelsson then added the insurance goal with just three minutes remaining in the match.
