Clemson Defeats Massachusetts

ATHENS, Ga.-- Jennifer Crawford scored three goals in leading 15th-ranked Clemson to a 4-3 win over 16th-ranked Massachusetts in a women's intercollegiate soccer match at Athens, GA Friday afternoon.

With the win, the Lady Tigers improve to 12-5 overall, while Massachusetts falls to 15-3 this season. Entering the match today, the Minutewomen had won eight matches in a row. Clemson is ranked 15th in the coaches' poll and 17th in the Soccer America listing. Massachusetts is ranked 16th in the coaches' poll and 15 in the Soccer America poll.

This is the fourth top 20 team the Lady Tigers have defeated this season.

Crawford has now scored 16 goals for the Lady Tigers this season. This ties the school record for the third most goals scored in a single season by a Lady Tiger. Former Lady Tiger Nikki Tompkins scored 16 goals in 1994.

Clemson will play host to Butler Saturday night at 7:00 p.m. on Riggs Field, in the last home match of the season for the Lady Tigers.
