GREENSBORO, N.C. -- Jenny Moore scored with 16:34 elapsed in sudden-death overtime to give UNC-Greensboro a 2-1 victory in womenıs soccer over Clemson at Greensboro, NC Sunday afternoon.
Clemson falls to 10-4 overall, while UNC-Greensboro improves its record to 13-4 this season.
Moore, a freshman, headed the game-winner past Lady Tiger goalie Suzanne Putnam into the right corner of the net after taking a cross from Shannon Carey. Carey passed from the left side to Moore, who was charging up the middle of the field. Moore has four goals for the season.
Ali Lord tied the game when she scored her 16th goal of the season in the 73rd minute. She took a short pass from Danica Baker, who received Kati Kantanenıs corner kick in front of the goal and dished it to Lord, who scored on Putnam.
After a scoreless first half, Clemson got on the board first when Lissa Mansberry netted her fourth goal of the season in the 63rd minute. She led a three on one Lady Tiger opportunity that beat Spartan goalie Paula Domitrovits. Lindsay Massengale was credited with the assist.
