Recap
Clemson
Coach Tracey Leone
"What a game! We're really proud of our performance and toughness. It was a
great game for the conference."
"We played hard, but there's obviously some disappointment."
On goal keeper Kate Carson:
"She played a phenomenal game. We couldn't have asked for a better
performance. I think (the winning goal) was just bad judgement. Those are
hard balls to judge, especially with so many people there."
On Carolina's Lorrie Fair:
"She gonna cause problems anywhere she plays. I felt she would play center
mid. (Her playing back) may have had something to do with Deliah Arrington,
her speed."
North Carolina
Lorrie Fair
On playing defense:
" It's the same defense as last year, so we know each other. I felt a
little shaky because it's been a while since I've been back there. But
things are starting to click."
Elizabeth Ball
On the game-winning goal:
"I was just trying to bend it in so we'd have a chance. I usually try to
find the two target players. On that one, I was just trying to bend it."
On her reaction:
"I don't think I thought anything. I was just jumping."
Coach Anson Dorrance
"The Clemson game plan was outstanding. Their kids fought hard, and that
kid (Arrington) is for real. She's gonna be a thorn in our side for three
more years."
On the overtime:
"Clemson stretched us, and that puts Wake Forest in a good situation for
Sunday. Hopefully we can recover in time."
