Women's Soccer Downs Duke in ACC Battle

DURHAM, N.C. - The Duke women's soccer team lost to No. 18 Clemson on Sunday afternoon, 2-0, in an ACC battle at Duke Soccer Stadium. The Blue Devils held Clemson without a goal for over 60 minutes in the game before the Tigers took the lead. With the loss, Duke drops to 7-9-1 on the year and 0-5-1 in the ACC. Clemson improves to 12-5 overall and 5-2 in the conference.
Clemson's Beth Keller found the nets first for the Tigers for what proved to be the game-winning score. Keller scored off a Clemson corner kick at 60:03 with the assist credited to Jenny Crawford. Allison Burpee added an insurance goal for the Tigers at 82:48, assisted by Sheri Bueter. Clemson outshot the Blue Devils by a 17-8 margin.
