Final Stats

CLEMSON, SC--Holly Grogan scored the game's only goal in leading Middle Tennessee State to a 1-0 win over Clemson in a women's intercollegiate soccer match at Clemson, SC Friday night.

With the win, Middle Tennessee State improves to 5-2 overall, while Clemson falls to 4-2-1 this season.

In the 31st minute, Kaley Forrest sent a diagonal pass from center of the field to the left to Grogan. Grogan sent a shot from 12 yards out to the right post for her fourth goal of the season.

Clemson was without starting midfielder Elizabeth Jobe who suffered a season-ending knee injury.

"This was a good hard-fought match," said Clemson Head Coach Todd Bramble. "We had enough chances tonight, but we could not put our shots away. Middle Tennessee State is a well-coached team and I have a lot of respect for their coach Aston Rhoden. They are well-organized, and played a good game. The loss of Elizabeth Jobe is hard. She is the one field player that is irreplaceable for our team. We will have to get it done by committee. I feel as if we are starting over without Jobe, and we must start a system that will get us results."

Clemson will play at Wofford at 2:00 p.m. in Spartanburg, SC on Sunday, September 18, in the Lady Tigers' next action.
