TALLAHASSEE, FL - The Clemson Lady Tigers dropped an 80-66 decision to Florida State in Thursday women's basketball action from Tallahassee, FL. The loss dropped Clemson to 8-11 on the year and 2-3 in the ACC, while the Seminoles improved to 11-6 overall with a 2-2 record in conference play.

Tasha Phillips, Julie Talley and Maxienne White each had 14 points to tie for Lady Tiger game-high honors, while White led the team on the boards with seven rebounds. Clemson shot 44.8% from the field and was 6-15 from beyond the arc.

Britany Miller led Florida State with 14 points as well, while Alicia Gladden and Christie Lautsch contributed 13 and 12, respectively.

The Seminoles out-rebounded the Lady Tigers by a 45-27 margin and scored 17 points off of 23 Clemson turnovers in a foul-plagued game.

Florida State jumped out to an early 20-8 lead in the first 9:26 of the game. Clemson went on a 9-2 run in the next two minutes, started by a Frist jumper with one second remaining on the shot clock, to cut the lead to five points. Talley's first three-pointer of the night narrowed the gap to four points (26-22) at the 7:05 mark.

However, the Seminoles quickly went back up by eight points and then took a 39-24 advantage into the break. Florida State forced 16 Lady Tiger turnovers in the half while committing just seven of its own to aid its efforts.

Clemson played a better second half, committing just seven turnovers and shooting 45.5% in the period, but was unable to narrow the gap to less than seven points. A White jumper at the 14:47 mark cut the Seminoles' lead to 47-40, but the Florida State stayed ahead by an 8-12 margin for most of the half.

The Seminoles went on to win the game, 80-66, and claim their 11th victory of the season.

The Lady Tigers will have a week off from action before hosting the Duke Blue Devils on Thursday, Jan. 26. The game is scheduled to begin at 7:00 PM at Littlejohn Coliseum.
