Five members of the Clemson men's track and field team are set to compete in this year's NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships. The Tigers will begin competition on Wednesday, June 8 and conclude the meet on Saturday, June 11. Jason Bell, Scott Kautz, George Kitchens, Itay Magidi and Ronald Richards will represent the Tigers at this year's meet. It will be the third appearance for Kitchens, a three-time All-American in the long jump, while Magidi is competing for his second All-America honor in the 3000m steeplechase. This year marks the first individual appearance for Richards, who will compete in the 100m and 200m dashes. Bell (triple jump) and Kautz (400m hurdles) are both making their debuts at the national meet.

The Tigers will begin competition at the NCAA Championships on Wednesday, June 8. George Kitchens will compete in the qualifying round of the long jump at 4:30 PM. Ronald Richards will represent the Tigers in the first round of the 100m dash at 5:40 PM, then will compete in the semifinals of the event at 7:15 PM. At 8:35 PM, Itay Magidi is scheduled to compete in the first round of the 3000m steeplechase.

On Thursday, Ronald Richards will start day two of the meet with round one of the 200m dash. Scott Kautz takes to the track at 5:50 PM in the first round of the 400m hurdles, then Richards returns for the semifinal of the 200m at 7:05 PM. Kitchens will compete in the first final for the Tigers at 7:00 PM, as he vies for his third outdoor All-America certificate in the finals of the long jump.

Friday's competition schedule begins with Jason Bell in the qualifying round of the triple jump at 5:00 PM. At 6:50 PM, Itay Magidi will compete for his second All-America honor in the 3000m steeplechase finals. Ronald Richards will compete for his first individual All-America honor at 8:20 PM in the finals of the 100m dash. The semifinals of the 400m hurdles are slated for 8:45 PM, in which Clemson will be represented by Kautz.

The final day of the 2005 NCAA Championships will include three event finals for the Tigers. At 6:30 PM, Bell will compete in the finals of the triple jump, followed by Kautz in the finals of the 400m hurdles at 6:45 PM. Richards will compete in the final event on the track for Clemson, the finals of the 200m dash, beginning at 7:10 PM.
