The Clemson men's track & field team will host the Orange & Purple Classic at the Rock Norman Complex on Saturday, May 6. The event is set to get underway at 12:00 PM with the women's javelin throw and men's hammer throw. The first running event scheduled is for 1:00, the men's 4x100m relay.

At 1:30, Clemson's first running event will be the 1500m. Will Noble, Clay Pendleton, and Sean Reilly are slated to compete in that event for the Tigers. Noble and Pendleton also will be in the 800m at 3:15, while Reilly is set for the 500m at 4:20. Jay Lumpkins will also run the 5000m for Clemson.

A host of Tigers will compete in the 110m high hurdles at 1:50, including regional qualifiers Roy Cheney and Brent Hobbs. Also entered for Clemson is multi-event athlete Mike Feathers and junior Lydell Perry. Both Feathers and Hobbs are scheduled for the 100m dash at 2:45 as well. Cheney and Perry will also compete at 3:40 in the 400m hurdles, along with freshman Andy Porter and senior Rashad Gardner.

Cowin Mills is set for the 400m dash at 2:20 and the 200m at 4:00. In addition to Noble and Pendleton, the Tigers will enter Darrian Hodges and Brian Knapp in the 800m at 3:15.

Jason Bell and George Fields will be entered in the long jump for the Tigers. Both were All-ACC performers and both have hit regional qualifying marks this season. Bell did so in the triple jump with a mark of 51'5.75" at the Penn Relays last weekend. The long jump is scheduled for 3:00 and triple jump at 5:00.

Mitch Greeley, Andrew Kessler, and Kenny Knox will compete in the pole vault for Clemson at 4:00. Greeley and Kessler have both hit regional marks this season. Hobbs will compete in the shot put at 3:30 and discus at 5:15. Danny Alge, who already has posted a regional mark this year and ranks second in school history in the hammer throw, will compete in the event at noon. Alge will also compete in the discus throw.
