CLEMSON, SC - The Clemson men's track and field team will compete at the Penn Relays this weekend at Franklin Field in Philadelphia, PA. This the 110th annual Carnival and features many of the top collegiate and professional track and field athletes. The Tigers, coming off their win at the ACC Championships, will compete in 11 events on Friday and Saturday.
Adam Linkenauger and Terrance McDaniel will open competition for Clemson in the high jump at 10:00 AM Friday morning. At 10:30 AM, Derek Gilson and Matt Lombardi will represent the Tgers in the shot put, and the first running event for Clemson is slated for 1:10 PM when the Tigers' 4x200m relay team of Larry Griffin, Lydell Perry, Ronald Richards and Michael Bolling take to the track. At 2:00 PM, George Kitchens will compete in the long jump and Gilson and Lombardi will contest the discus throw at 2:30 PM. Clemson's shuttle hurdle relay team comprised of Roy Cheney, Brent Hobbs, Rick Hill and Lydell Perry will compete at 2:35 PM. The trials of the 100m dash are slated for 2:45 and will feature Clemson's Griffin, then Perry and Cheney will compete in the 110m hurdle trials at 3:05 PM. At 3:40, Clemson's distance medley relay team of Derrick Wyatt, Cheney, Ahmad Rutherford and Matt Clark will take to the track. Clemson's final event of the day will be the sprint medley relay team of Richards, Perry, Bolling and Rutherford at 6:35 PM.
On Saturday, Clemson returns to action at 9:10 AM with the 400m hurdle race featuring the Tigers' Bolling, Scott Kautz, Cheney and Perry. The finals of the 4x200m relay, 110m hurdles and 100m dash are slated for 2:35 PM, 3:25 PM and 3:45 PM, respectively.
