Clemson Men's Track And Field To Play Host To NC-SC All-Star Meet
April 11, 2003 CLEMSON, S.C. - The Clemson men's track and field team will play host to the NC-SC All-Star meet this weekend at the Rock Norman Track Complex. The Tigers will face competition from Furman, Livingstone, Mars Hill, UNC Asheville ans Winthrop. Saturday's meet is scheduled to begin at 11:15 AM with the field events, and the running events will commence at 1:00 PM.
The meet will begin with the men's hammer throw, featuring Clemson's Derek Gilson and Matt Lombardi at 11:15 AM. In the first running event of the day, David Smith and David Adams will compete in the 3000m steeplechase scheduled for 1:00 PM. At 1:15 PM, Terrance McDaniel, Brit Barrow, Chris Gross and Brent Hobbs are slated to compete in the long jump, followed by 1:30 pole vault competition with Adam Klotzbach and Ryan Lewis. At 1:35 PM, the Tigers' 4x100m relay takes to the track. Mike Barton, Scott Shaw and Clay Pendleton will represent Clemson in the 1500m at 2:00 PM, followed bu Scott Kautz, Roy Cheney and Rashad Gardner in the 110m hurdles at 2:20 PM. In the shot put at 2:30 PM, Brent Hobbs, Ryan Hunter, Chris Gross and Derek Gilson are slated to compete. Warren Eure, Garrick Copes, Ronald Richards, Chris Gross, Brent Hobbs and Ryan Hunter will compete in the 400m at 2:40 PM, then Tye Hill, Airese Currie, Robert Ibeh and George Kitchens are scheduled to run the 100m at 3:10 PM. Brit Barrow will represent Clemson in the triple jump at 3:15 PM, and Derrick Wyatt will compete in the 800m at 3:30 PM. At 4:00 PM, Marcus Hodge, Scott Kautz, Roy Cheney and Rashad Gardner are slated to compete in the 400m hurdles, and Chris Gross, Brent Hobbs, Ryan Hunter and Derek Gilson will compete in the discus throw also at 4:00 PM. The 200m dash will feature Michael Bolling, Robert Ibeh, Otto Spain, Airese Currie, Warren Eure, Tye Hill, Ronald Richards and Kai Maull at 4:20 PM. The Tigers' 4x400m relay team will be the last event on the track for the men's teams, and is scheduled to begin at 5:25 PM.
