The Clemson men's track & field team will host the Clemson Invitational on Saturday, April 8 at the Rock Norman Outdoor Complex. The event, which has been deemed a Solid Orange event, will begin at 10:00 AM with the women's javelin and men's hammer throw. Other schools that will be competing Saturday are The Citadel, East Carolina, Virginia Military Institute, Virginia Tech, and Western Carolina.

Danny Alge, a regional qualifier for the Tigers this season, will start competition for Clemson in the hammer throw. Multi-event athletes Mike Feathers, Brent Hobbs, and Ryan Koontz will compete in the javelin at 11:45 AM. Jason Bell and George Fields are entered in the long jump for the Tigers, with that event scheduled for 1:00. Fields has posted a pair of regional marks this year.

At 1:30, the men's shot put and high jump will begin. Competing for Clemson in the shot put will be the three multi-event athletes mentioned earlier. Feathers, Fields, and Koontz will be in the high jump. At 2:00, Mitch Greeley, Andrew Kessler, and Kenny Knox will be in the pole vault. At 3:00, Jason Bell will compete in the triple jump for the first time this outdoor season. The final field event is the discus throw at 3:15. Alge, Feathers, Hobbs, and Koontz are entered in that event from Clemson.

The running events get underway with the 3000m steeplechase at 12:00 PM. Sean Reilly is entered from Clemson in that event. At 12:35, Roy Cheney, Corey Brown, Travis Padgett, and Cowin Mills will run the 4x100m relay for the Tigers. At 1:10, four Tigers will be competing in the 1500m run. Brian Knapp, Itay Magidi, Will Noble, and Clay Pendleton are the competitors from Clemson in that event.

Cheney, Feathers, Hobbs, and Koontz are entered in the 110m high hurdles, which will get started at 1:30. Mills and Isaac Mullins will be in the 400m dash at 2:00, while a host of Tigers will compete in the 100m at 2:25.
