Clemson, SC - Mitch Greeley posted an NCAA provisional qualifying mark in the pole vault Saturday, leading the Tiger track & field team on day two at the Clemson Opener. Greeley, the school record-holder in the event, had a mark of 17'7.25" and won the pole vault Saturday.

Trenton Guy was runner-up in the 60m dash with a time of 6.79. He posted a provisional NCAA qualifying time in the prelims Friday. Christopher Davis of North Carolina Central edged him at the line (6.76). Gwantaveus Anderson was eighth (6.91) and Kendall Millhouse (6.97) finished ninth for the Tigers.

Guy was also runner-up in the 200m dash. He posted a time of 21.85. Travis Padgett, who automatically qualified for NCAAs in the 60m in Friday's prelims, was sixth in the 200m with a time of 22.23. Anderson was right behind in seventh (22.24).

Cowin Mills jumped out to a big lead after one lap of the 400m dash, but was slowly reeled in by his competition on the final lap. He was fourth overall with a time of 49.09. Colin Abercrombie (51.65) was 23rd overall. Andrew Porter was runner-up in the 800m, as he turned in a personal best with a time of 1:56.11. Jasen Turnbull was 13th (2:01.44).

Chris Slate was sixth in the 3000m run. The freshman posted a time of 9:01.43.

Mike Feathers edged Brandon Carter for 10th in the 60m hurdles final. Both had a time of 8.59 on Saturday. The Tigers' 4x400m relay squad won on Saturday, posting a time of 3:17.95.

Scott Pauga was fourth in the high jump in his debut for the Tigers. The sophomore transfer cleared 6'6.25". Josh Fowler was 11th in the triple jump, as he posted a mark of 45'1.5" on his third and final attempt of the preliminary round.

Alex Padgett was seventh place in the shot put. The red-shirt freshman had a mark of 50'3.5". Stephen White, a first-year performer from Beaufort, SC, was eighth with a throw of 48'1.75".

The team will take a break before returning to the track in January. The Tigers travel to Blacksburg, VA for the Virginia Tech Invitational on the 11th and 12th of the month.
