Cullowhee, NC - The men's cross country team won its second meet of the season Saturday morning after cruising to the team and individual title at the Catamount Classic. The meet was a 5K competition held at the Western Carolina University campus. The Tigers totaled 25 points in first place and were followed by Elon (49), Furman (63), and Western Carolina (80).

"It was a good day," said Bob Pollock, head coach of the Tiger program. "I thought we ran a lot tougher through three miles today than we did two weeks ago at this course."

Chad Holt of Greenville, SC became the second Tiger freshman in as many events to win an individual title. He posted a time of 15:28.0 in the win. Will Noble, a red-shirt sophomore, was third overall with a time of 15:38.1. Tyler Morey, who won the season opener for the Tigers two weeks ago also at Western Carolina, finished fourth after crossing the line with a time of 15:40.6.

Jonathan Sunde had his first-ever scoring effort for the Tigers. The Charlotte, NC native posted a time of 15:50.3 and finished in eighth place, but earned six points for the team, as two unattached runners did not count in the final team standings. Dan Cartica, a red-shirt freshman, was 11th at 16:12.6.

The Tigers return to action on September 28 for the Notre Dame Invitational.
