Philadelphia, PA - The Clemson men's track & field team competed in various events on the second day of action at the 112th annual Penn Relays from Franklin Field on Friday. Travis Padgett posted another regional-qualifying mark in the 100m and will compete in Saturday's finals at 4:00 PM.

Padgett, a freshman from Shelby, NC and winner of the ACC crown in the 100m, clocked a time of 10.46 to win the first heat of the afternoon Friday in that event. He had the fourth-best time overall in the preliminaries of that event.

In the 400m hurdles, both Andy Porter and Rashad Gardner competed for Clemson. A freshman from Budd Lake, NJ, Porter was 36th overall with a time of 53.41, while Gardner came in 65th place with a time of 55.68. The shuttle hurdle relay team of Roy Cheney, Brent Hobbs, Rashad Gardner, and Ryan Koontz was ninth with a time of 1:05.18. The distance medley relay team of Will Noble, Gardner, Brian Knapp, and Itay Magidi posted a time of 10:05.40.

George Fields competed in the long jump and posted a mark of 21'10.75".

The Tigers return to action Saturday. Danny Alge will compete in the hammer throw at 12:15 PM, while Jason Bell is set for the triple jump at 2:00.
