Clemson, SC - Danny Alge of the Clemson men's track & field team won the hammer throw competition on the first day of the Solid Orange Classic from the Rock Norman Outdoor Complex. Alge set a personal best and recorded a regional-qualifying mark with a toss of 200'9", which ranks second in school history. It was an improvement of his previous best, which was 195'3" at the Yellow Jacket Invitational three weekends ago.

The meet will resume on Saturday at 10:00 AM.
