Tigers Qualify Three For NCAA Championships At The Clemson Classic On Saturday

CLEMSON, SC- The Clemson Men's Track and Field team competed in the Clemson Classic Saturday at the Clemson Indoor Track and Field Facility. Itay Magidi set the facility record and qualified provisionally for the NCAA National Meet with a time of 4:05.30 in the mile. Roy Cheney also had a provisional qualifying time of 7.29 in the 55m hurdles. Jason Bell also had another provisional qualifying mark in the triple jump. In the 55m, Robert Ibeh was ninth with a time of 6.62. Itay Magidi had an NCAA provisional qualifying time of 4:05.30 in the mile and finished in first place, while Clay Pendleton placed third with a time of 4:20.48. Cowin Mills placed fifth in the 800m with a time of 1:58.98. In the 3000m, Sean Reilly finished fifth with a time of 8:38.93, Greg Isaacs was eighth with a time of 8:48.44, Eric Soder was ninth with a time of 8:48.54, and Brian Soder was 11th with a time of 8:55.31. Roy Cheney finished second in the 55m hurdles with a time of 7.29, and Lydell Perry placed seventh with a time of 7.47. The 4X400m relay team of Darius Acker, Michael Bolling, Rashad Gardner, and Roy Cheney won the event with a time of 3:14.54.
Jason Bell had a provisional qualifying mark in the triple jump with a personal best mark of 52'0" to win the event, and Mickey Sheats finished second with a mark of 48'10". In the high jump, Arthur Hinton placed third with a jump of 6'4.75". Mitch Greeley finished third in the pole vault with a mark of 16'6.75". Derek Gilson finished second in the shot put with a throw of 55'3". The Tigers return to action on March 5 at the Iowa State Last Chance Meet. Clemson Individual Results |
