Clemson Men's Tennis Falls To Duke In ACC Championship

RALEIGH, NC - The Clemson men's tennis team fell 4-1 to Duke in the championship of the ACC Tournament Sunday at Millbrook Exchange Tennis Center. The Blue Devils improve to 20-5, while the Tigers fall to 24-10 on the season.

In singles play, Sander Koning dropped a 7-6 (2), 6-0 decision to Michael Yani at number two singles. Jarmaine Jenkins fell to Ludovic Walter at flight three singles, 7-5, 6-2, while John Boetsch lost a 6-4, 6-1 decision to Jason Zimmermann at number four singles. At flight six singles, Ash Misquith fell to Peter Shults by a score of 6-2, 6-2.

In doubles action, the Tigers won at number one and three positions to win the doubles point. Nathan Thompson and Jenkins posted an 8-6 win over Yani and Phillip King at number one doubles, while Koning and Brett Twente defeated Jonathan Stokke and Shults at flight three doubles by a score of 8-4.
