Clemson Drops Pair of Men's Tennis Matches

Montgomery, AL-Clemson dropped a pair of men's tennis matches at the Blue-Gray Classic in Montgomery, AL. The Tigers fell to Minnesota 4-1 late Friday, then dropped a 4-0 decision to William & Mary on Saturday. The Tigers are competing this weekend in the 18-team event through Sunday. Clemson lost in the first round to Virginia Commonwealth last Thursday, 4-0. Clemson fell to 3-10 for the season with the loss on Saturday. Clemson's only singles match victory came at the number-four singles against Minnesota. Lee Taylor Walker downed Alex Zharinov 7-5, 7-6. Clemson had beaten Minnesota on Feb. 11th in a match at Miami, FL, 4-3. Clemson continues to play without number-one player Josh Goffi, who is out with an injury. He is ranked 61st in the nation in the latest ITA rankings.
