Clemson, SC -- Clemson junior Kyle Stanley is ranked as the number-three amateur in the world according to the final summer Golfweek amateur rankings. Stanley is second among American players.

Stanley won the Southern Amateur in Orlando, FL in July to highlight his summer. It was the second time he has won the event in his career and he will be granted a spot in the 2009 Arnold Palmer Invitational by virtue of the victory. Stanley reached the second round of match play at the United States Amateur and also reached the final 16 of match play at the Western Amateur. Stanley enters his junior year ranked second in Clemson history in career stroke average.

Phillip Mollica is the second highest ranked Clemson player in the Golfweek Amateur rankings. The senior from Anderson, SC is 97th in the world and 41st in the nation. Mollica won the Monroe Amateur in June, the second time he has won that tournament in three years. He is the only two-time winner in the history of the tournament.

Sam Saunders, a junior on the 2008-09 Clemson team, is ranked 108 in the world and 44th in the nation. Saunders finished a consistent summer in which he had four top 15 finishes in national amateur events. He won the US Amateur qualifier in Haines City, FL by 14 shots.

Ben Martin, also a junior on the Clemson team this year, is ranked 87th in nation by Golfweek.
