Clemson, SC -- Clemson junior Kyle Stanley was eliminated in the final 16 of the match play portion of the Western Amateur at Point O Woods Country Club in Benton Harbor, MI on Saturday. Stanley was defeated by Texas A& M sophomore Conrad Shindler 2& 1.

Stanley had finished fifth in the medal play portion of the tournament. The Western Amateur features a 72-hole medal play over the first three days, followed by two days of match play that determines the Western Amateur Champion. Stanley had rounds of 71-63-68-72 to finish with a 274 score, good enough for fifth place.

Stanley's next event will be the United States Amateur at Pinehurst #2 August 18-24.
