Birmingham, AL - Clemson incoming freshman Kyle Stanley won the 100th Southern Amateur over the weekend at the Country Club of Birmingham. The native of Washington shot a nine-under par 275 to finish one shot ahead of Virginia Tech sophomore Drew Weaver.

Stanley, who is ranked #5 in the Golfweek Junior Rankings, earned an exemption into the PGA Tour's 2007 Bay Hill Invitational with the victory. Stanley's four-round total included a pair of 67s, in the first and third rounds of the tournament. He played in the Junior World Cup earlier this summer and earned a third-place finish at that event.
