United States Defeats Great Britain And Ireland At Baltusrol

SPRINGFIELD, N.J. - The Palmer Cup presented by CSFBdirect, named after legendary golfer Arnold Palmer, ended today at Baltusrol Golf Club as the American collegiate all-stars defeated Great Britain and Ireland 18-6 on the historic Lower Course. The U.S. won 10 of the 16 singles matches played today, including seven of the eight in the morning round. Four Americans (Nick Cassini, John Engler, Jeff Quinney and Chris Wisler) went undefeated in their four matches. Each player won three matches and tied once. The win marked the third time the Americans have won the two-day match play event. The series record stands 3-1-1. A tape delayed two-hour highlight show will air on The Golf Channel on September 6 at 8 p.m. ET. The show will re-air at 11 p.m. on September 6 and again at 9 a.m. on September 15.
