Summer 2007: Had an outstanding summer highlighted by his victory at the North-South Amateur...won the title on July 8 with an 8 and 6 victory over Ray Sheedy IV of Kymar, MD... his victory margin was the second largest in the last 24 years of the event...past champions of the North-South include Jack Nicklaus, Davis Love and Curtis Strange...Mollica dominated the 36-hole final, as he jumped out to a 5-up lead after the morning 18 holes thanks to five birdies and just two bogeys in the first 18 holes...the win over Sheedy in the finals was his second victory over a Charlotte University golfer during his run to the title....in the week he defeated Andrew Dibitetto of the 49ers golf program by a 4 & 3 score...other golfers Mollica defeated on the way to the North-South title included Jesse Speiers, a golfer from TCU, Steve Ziegler, a freshman at Stanford in the fall and a member of the United States Junior World Cup team, Scott Barton of SMU and Aaron Pike, one of the top amateurs in Australia....after the North-South win, Mollica had three straight top 25 finishes at major amateur events...finished 23rd at the Players Amateur, 22nd at the Southern Amateur and 24th at the South Carolina Amateur...also went on to play in the US Amateur, but did not reach match play.
2006-07: Played in six events, three in the fall and three in the spring...had a 74.44 stroke average in the fall...had his best event of the year in Las Vegas when he finished 18th with a 221 score...had a second round 69, which was his best round of his career... tied for Clemson's best golfer in Las Vegas with Ben Martin...second on the team in fewest bogeys/round in 2006-07...had a 71 in his first round of the year at the Carpet Classic to help Clemson to a second place team finish, its best finish in a tournament in the fall of 2006...also played well at isleworth, he finished 35th and was Clemson's third best golfer...played the par three holes at even par at Isleworth, tied for second best in the entire field...had a 1-1 record at the Callaway Collegiate match Play at The Colonial in Fort Worth, TX...beat Nick Taylor of Washington, three and two...lost in second round to Ryan Posey of Oklahoma State.... tied for the team lead in par three scoring in 2006-07 with 3.19 average...team leader in pars/round with 11.11. Summer 2006: Captured the prestigious Monroe Invitational in Pittsford, NY in June, the third Clemson golfer in the last five years to win the title...D.J. Trahan (2002) and Brent Delahoussaye (2003) were also recent winners...Mollica became first wire-to-wire winner of the event since it went to stroke play in 1998....fired an eight-under-par 272 on the 6,787-yard par 70 Monroe Golf Club course that was designed by Donald Ross...had rounds of 65-67-71-69 to win the tournament by two shots over Michael Quagliano, who plays at Duke...tied for second at the South Carolina Amateur with current Clemson assistant coach Jordan Byrd...Mollica fired a 280...also played in the Dogwood Invitational in Atlanta and finished 41st with a 290 score....also competed in the Porter Cup where he finished 58th with a 290 score...might have had his performances of the summer at Pinehurst...shot a course record 63 in Pinehurst #4 to win qualifier for the North-South Amateur in June...he then won the North-South stroke play qualifying with a 131 total...had a 64 on Pinehurst #2 and a 67 on #4 to win the qualifying by six shots...reached the final 32 of the match play of the North-South, he beat Andrew Ross 1 up, then lost to Brian Carroll, 2 and 1. 2005-06: Played in five of the 12 events as a first-year freshman, two in the fall and three in the spring...consistent over his first three events, he shot +7 or +8 for each of his first three events...had his best finish of the year at the Jerry Pate, he finished 47th with a seven-over 220 score...had season best one-under-par 71 in the second round of the Carpet Classic...had a second round 73 at the Puerto Rico Classic in his first tournament of the spring...did not play after the Bulls Bay Invitational in late March...had solid 74.0 stroke average in the fall...showed consistency in the fall with five of the six rounds between 71-75... shot a 229 at the Jerry Pate and a 224 at the Carpet Classic...tied for second on the team in total rounds at 75 or better and was first on the team with 5/6 or 83.3 percent in the fall.
