Fall 2007: Third on the Clemson team in stroke average for the fall with a 73.11 average...the most consistent player on the team in the fall, he played in three events and finished in the top 25 in all three, the only Tiger to do that in the fall...started with 18th at Topy Cup, then had 10th place at Brickyard and 23rd at Isleworth...that 10th place ranking helped Tigers to second place team finish at Brickyard...had his best round of the fall with a 67 at Brickyard in the first round...finished with four under par 212, his top career finish for a 54 hole event on a par 72 course...that 67 tied for the low round of the fall by a Clemson golfer and the -5 score versus par was also tied for the best...had 69 in final round at Isleworth to lead Clemson on the last day to help Tigers to number-two team finish...played in three of the four events, he sat out the Carpet Capital Classic in Dalton, GA...had eight of his nine rounds at 75 or better, tied for best percentage on the team with Sam Saunders...his 73.11 stroke average was his best fall performance as a Tiger.
Summer 2007: Had a solid summer with four straight top 25 finishes in major events...finished summer best 11th at the Rice Planters with a seven under 281 score...also 21st at The Sunnehanna and 13th at the Carolinas Match Play stroke play...he then advanced to the Final 16 of the stroke play...also 18th at the Southern Amateur...had a 66 in the second round of that event, the best round of the summer for Ervin...made the US Amateur, he had rounds of 78-76 and did not advance to match play.
In 2006-07: Fourth on the team in stroke average with a 74.21 figure...showed improvement in the spring relative to the fall in terms of top finishes...had 74.44 stroke average in the fall and 73.98 in the spring...tied for second on the team in top 10 finishes with two...had five rounds under par, third on the Clemson team...second on the team in first round scoring average with a 73.13 figure...finished eighth at the Puerto Rico Classic, tied for best Clemson golfer in that event...finished strong in that event with final round 69, giving him a four-under par 212 for the tournament...that was his low round of the year...that was just his second under-par tournament as a Clemson golfer... had three top 16 finishes in four events in the spring after failing to get a top 30 in the fall...Clemson's second best golfer at the ACC Tournament and second best at the United States Collegiate...played in three of the four stroke play events and the Callaway Match Play in the fall of 2006...had 74.44 stroke average in the fall, below his career average of 74.79...had his best tournament at the Ping Preview with a 217 score, good enough for 38th place individually in the strong field...had consecutive rounds of 71-71 to close the tournament, his two low rounds of the fall...played the par five holes in four-under-par at the Ping Preview, tied for fifth best in the field...finished tied for 31st at the Aloha Classic with a 222 score...tied for third in scoring on par three holes at the Aloha Classic with even-par performance for the week...also had 37 pars for the tournament, tied for fifth best in the field...had 63 birdies for the year...third on the team in putting, he averaged exactly 30.0 putts per round in 2006-07.
Summer 2006: Won the Rice Planters Invitational on July with a 276 score, 12-under par...had rounds of 69-66-71-70 for the four day event...won by one shot over Tim Stewart....was four shots down entering the final round, but came back to gain the victory.
In 2005-06: Consistent player who ranked 13th in the nation in pars per round in 2005-06...had as much to do with Clemson's ascension to seventh place in the NCAA Tournament as anyone...had just one top 10 finish, but had five top 20 finishes, including four in a row in the spring...Coach Penley cited Ervin's addition to the lineup as a big reason Clemson showed considerable improvement in the spring season...started his run with 17th place finish at Bulls Bay on March 28, his home course...finished 13th at Augusta State with even-par 216 score, his second best score of the year at the time...had first career top 10 in next event, the United States Collegiate...that was his third straight tournament in which he was Clemson's second best golfer...finished 16th at the ACC Tournament with career low three-under-par 213 score...his performance included a second-round 68...top tournament of the fall came at the Jerry Pate where he shot a career best 212...finished 14th at the tournament, tied for the best among Clemson golfers...shot 66 in first round of the Jerry Pate, his first round of the year and his career best score...tied for the third best score by a Clemson golfer during the year...that performance at the Jerry Pate and the ACC tournament were his only under-par tournaments of the year...averaged 11.75 pars per round for the season, 13th best in the nation.
Summer 2005: Had a solid summer 2005 including two top 12 finishes, at the Southern Amateur and the Rice Planters Amateur...shot rounds of 71-70-70 for a five-under-par total 211 to finish T-11 in the Rice Planters Amateur...had rounds of 75-72-70-67 for a four over par 284 total to finish T-12 in the Southern Amateur...was the only Clemson golfer to qualify for the match play portion of the U.S. Amateur with rounds of 73 at Pennsylvania Country Club and 71 and Merion Golf Club...suffered a hard fought loss in the first round of match play to then Duke senior and reigning ACC Champion Ryan Blaum 1 down.
In 2004-05: Played in five tournaments over the course of the season for the Tigers...first career start at the Carpet Capital Classic in Dalton, GA...also played in the Hootie Invitational at Bulls Bay in Mt. Pleasant, SC, where he shot his first ever round under par for the Tigers when he recorded a final round two under par 69...had his best finish of the year with a 25th place finish individually at the Augusta State Invitational...also competed for Clemson in the ACC Tournament and the NCAA East Regional Tournament
Summer 2004: Competed in three major amateur events...finished 58th at the Azalea Amateur in March of 2004 with consistent rounds of 73-73-72-75 for 293 total...had 26th place finish at the Rice Planters with a two-under par 286...had strong 69 in the final round to finish at 286, he was five-under par for his last three rounds...finished 25th at the South Carolina State Amateur with a 302 score...highlight of the tournament was a 71 in the third round....reached the match play portion of the South Carolina Match Play Championship.
In High School: State 4A Champion and 4A Player of the year as a junior in 2002...classmate Zack Siefert won the 4A title his senior year...won the Junior Rice Planters Championship in 2002 as well...won the 2001 Players Championship as a sophomore...in 2001, while still in high school, shot a 66 at Bulls Bay, the round included consecutive eagles, a three on the par 5 13th and a hole-in-one at the par three 14th...during another round at Bulls Bay once made a double eagle two on the 10th hole with a six-iron from 180 yards...Bulls Bay is his home course...all-region selection for the past six years...selected as the team MVP his last three years...played his high school career at Wando High School under Jerry Lloyd...born December 22, 1983...management major at Clemson.
