Overview: Red-shirt senior who is in his third year as a starter on the Tiger team...played in one tournament and earned a letter during Clemson's run to the National Championship in 2003, he is the only current Tiger who lettered during the national championship season...the highest ranked Tiger golfer after the fall of 2005 with a number-31 ranking according to the Sagarin rankings.... had a 74.14 stroke average last year as a junior, but has improved to a 73.67 in the fall of 2005...did not have a round in the 60s prior to the 2004-05 season, but led the Tigers in rounds in the 60s (4) and rounds under par (9) for the season... had a career highlight at Bulls Bay when he made a hole-in-one, just the fourth hole-in-one in Clemson history in competition...that was the 11th hole-in-one for the Duncan family, the first for Brian...brother Ben has had three and his father, Bill, an accomplished amateur player in Greenville, has had eight, including one last year at the Tiger Golf Gathering...brother of Ben Duncan, starter on the 2003 National Championship team, who is now a professional...Brian earned a National Championship ring that year , joining his brother Ben as one of only two brother combinations in Clemson athletics history (any sport) with National Championship rings....the McSwain Brothers (Chuck and Rod) were teammates on Clemson's 1981 National Championship football team... Fall 2005 at Clemson:
Played in two of the Tiger's three tournaments in the Fall...five of his six rounds were 75 or better...finished in the top-20 in both of his starts in the fall at the Isleworth Collegiate and the Carpet Capital Classic...shot 223 at the Isleworth Collegiate to finish 18th in the field individually, that included a round of 70 in opening round, the top round of the fall for Duncan...he was in the hunt for medallist honors after 36 holes of that stormy event...had consistent rounds of 72-73-74 to finish 19th individually in the Carpet Capital Classic...second among Clemson golfers in both tournaments ...highest ranked Tiger in the Sagarin golf rankings at #31 and is sixth best among ACC players...had a fall stroke average of 73.67 to rank second on the team.

Summer 2005: Competed in eight amateur events over the summer 2005...his summer was highlighted by a strong defense of his Palmetto Amateur championship August 11-14, an event he won the summer 2004...recorded rounds of 67-69-70-70 for an eight-under par 276 total, good enough for the 4th place finish...finished T-11 in the South Carolina Amateur August 4-7, after shooting a final round 67, which was the third lowest score for the day...he shot a two-under-par 286 for the tournament overall...had top 35 finishes at the Monroe (34th, with 288 score), Rice Planters (30th, 215 score) and Players Amateur (31st, 291 score)...also competed in the Jones Cup, Dogwood Amateur, and the Western Amateur.

2004-05 Academic Year at Clemson: Competed in all 12 tournaments for the Tigers as a junior, his second season as a starter... led the team in rounds in the 60s (4) and rounds at par or better (9)...finished the season with a 74.14 stroke average after 36 rounds, third best on the team...23 of the 36 rounds were at 75 or lower...recorded a top 10 finish at The Ridges, the first tournament of the academic year...he shot rounds of 68-69-74 for a five-under par 211 total to lead the Tigers to a 3rd place team finish...that five-under par figure was the best score vs. par by a Clemson golfer all year and the third place individual finish was the best all year by a Clemson golfer... he did not have another top 10 finish, but had a pair of 11th place finishes and five total top 20s...he led the team in top 20 finishes ...that included an 11th-place finish at the Isleworth Collegiate with a two-over-par 218 total for 54 holes...also finished 11th at the Carpet Capital Classic with a five-over par 221 total for 54 holes...finished 20th at the Hootie Invitational at Bulls Bay with a seven-over-par 220 total for 54 holes...that included a hole in one on the par three 17th hole...it was the first hole in one on the newly built tee at the Bulls Bay course...finished 19th at the ACC Tournament with a seven-over-par 223 total for 54 holes... Clemson's top golfer in the fall of 2004 with a 72.47 stroke average...led the team in under par rounds (6) and rounds at par or better (7)...had consistent fall, 12 of his 15 rounds were at 75 or better...played in all five stroke play tournaments and the Hooters Match Play...had four rounds in the 60s, including a four-under-par 67 at the Jerry Pate, the second lowest score of the fall by a Tiger and still his career low round in competition for the Tigers....finished in the top three among Clemson golfers in all five fall events and was Clemson's top golfer twice, The Ridges and the Carpet Classic...played as Clemson's number-one player in all four matches at the Match Play Championship, he posted a 1-3 record....the victory was a 1-up triumph over Henry Liaw of Arizona...won two of the last three holes to gain that victory, winning the overall team match for the Tigers, 3-2...Duncan was very competitive in the other three matches, as all three were not decided until at least the end of the 16th hole.

2003-04 Academic Year at Clemson: Competed in eight events over the fall and spring seasons...best finish was a 21st-place at the ACC Tournament in April...he shot two-over 218 for that tournament in helping lead the Tigers to victory...the 218 score was the best 54-hole tournament of 2003-04...was set to travel with the team to Yale for the East Regional, but a jammed thumb prevented him from competing...best individual round of the year was a 70, which he accomplished twice...had a second-round 70 in the Carpet Classic in October...also had a 70 in the opening round at Las Vegas...stroke average for the year was 74.86...finished strong with seven of his last nine rounds at 75 or better... had solid rounds of 73-76-75 at the Atlanta Intercollegiate, where he finished at eight-over par...played in three out of the four fall stroke events and also the Match Play for the Tigers...competed in Clemson's first three events of the fall...best showing was a #25- finish at three-over-par in the Ridges...followed that with a two-day, eight-over 148 in the Fall Preview...finished seven-over at the Carpet Classic, helping the Tigers to a second-place finish in that event...compiled a 1-2-1 record in the Match Play event, as he defeated Wesley Horns of N.C. State and halved a match with Michael Daniels of Auburn.

Summer 2003: Put together a strong summer heading into his red-shirt sophomore season with the Tigers...won medallist honors for the stroke portion of the South Carolina Amateur Match Play Championship in June...fired a course record nine-under-par 63 in the second round of stroke play...lost in the second round of match play...shot a four-over-par 292 to finish 25th at the Dogwood Invitational...finished 16th at the Rice Planters Championship, one of three Tigers to finish in the top 16 at that tournament...finished seventh in the stroke portion of the Carolinas Amateur Match Play Championship in July...shot one-under 287 in the Players Amateur, good enough for 15th place.

2002-03 Academic Year at Clemson: Saw his first action of the year at the Collegiate Match Play event in November, 2002...played well in that event posting a 1-2-1 record...had a halve in the second round against Dayton Rose of Oklahoma State, then defeated Andy Cornell of Arizona in the semifinals, 3 and 2...that win was big in Clemson's drive to the championship...lost in the finals to Scott Jamieson of Augusta State by just 2 and 1...played in the Schenkel Invitational in the spring...shot a solid five-over-par and helped the Tigers to a second-place finish in that event.

Summer 2002: Played well in many tournaments with national amateur fields...finished 14th at the Monroe, an event won by D.J. Trahan...shot a 286 for the four rounds played at the par 70 course in Pittsbord, NY...could have finished higher had he not shot 76 in the first round...finished 68-71-71 for the +6 finish...reached the semifinals of the South Carolina Match Play in June at the Spartanburg Country Club...lost to Taylor Hough in the semifinals in 20 holes...had strongest performance at the Rice Planters at Mount Pleasant, SC...finished fourth at that tournament with a 282 score...had rounds of 68-71-72-71, he had the best finish out of the six Clemson golfers who played in the event.

Summer 2001: Member of the East Team of the American Junior Golf Association Cannon Cup, was the leading point getter in the Cannon Cup (3-0-1)...honored as a member of the AJGA All-American Second-Team...competed alongside his brother (Ben) in the Rice Planters tournament, and finished 17th shooting 72-70-72-74...won the Myrtle Beach Junior Classic (AJGR), and had amazing rounds of 65-66-69 and 16-under-par...his 19 birdies broke the tournament record by 3 shots...reached the quarterfinals of the Carolinas Match Play, he lost in 20 holes to Kyle Bradley...reached the semifinals of South Carolina match play and lost to Clemson teammate Gregg Jones 3 and 2...finished 16th in the South Carolina Amateur with a 294 score.
