Clemson, SC - Clemson All-ACC offensive tackle Barry Richardson is listed as one of the top five contenders for the Outland Trophy and the Lombardi Awards by Rivals.com. The internet site lists Glenn Dorsey, a defensive tackle from LSU, Jake Long, a tackle from Michigan, Sam Baker, a tackle from Southern Cal, and Jonathan Luigs, a center from Arkansas, as the top five contenders for the awards which are given to the top linemen in college football.

Richardson will be in his fourth year as a starting offensive tackle for the Tigers. He was named first-team All-ACC last year, the first underclassman offensive lineman to make first-team All-ACC since Jim Bundren in 1996. Richardson had 75 knockdown blocks last season and allowed just two quarterback sacks in 13 games and 684 offensive snaps.

Richardson was a prime reason Clemson ranked fifth in the nation in rushing offense. He provided many of the rushing lanes for Clemson running backs James Davis and C.J. Spiller, the second most productive running back duo in college football in 2006.
