In 2002: Named Clemson’s offensive MVP for the Tangerine Bowl; he had seven catches for 134 yards...that was just 13 yards away from the Clemson bowl record...the 134 yards were his career high and the most reception yards by a Tiger all season...the total included a 67-yard reception from Charlie Whitehurst, the longest reception of his career...ranked sixth in the ACC in receptions per game and 63rd in the nation...got the season off to a big start with six catches for 66 yards and a touchdown at Georgia...the scoring pass came on a 21-yard pass from Willie Simmons just eight seconds before halftime and cut the Bulldogs’ lead to just one touchdown...followed that performance up with a career-high 10 receptions for 89 yards against Louisiana Tech...became just the seventh player in Clemson history to have double figures in receptions in a single game...had six catches in the win over Wake Forest on Homecoming; he came off the bench to accomplish that...had at least one reception in every game and had at least two catches in 12 of the 13 games...had a standout game at Duke with eight receptions for 61 yards and a score...the touchdown came on a 14-yard pass from Charlie Whitehurst, Clemson’s first drive of the game...finished the regular season with three receptions for 35 yards in the win over rival South Carolina...started 11 of the 13 games; he did not start the Wake Forest game or the bowl game...played at least 17 snaps in every contest and at least 38 snaps in nine of the 13 games.

In 2000: Had a 17.3-yard average for his 13 catches, similar to Rod Gardner’s 18.1 average...figures he would have something in common with Gardner; Youngblood and Gardner both went to Raines High School in Jacksonville, FL...had two touchdown receptions and five catches of 20 yards or more...had a 49-yard reception on a bomb from Willie Simmons in the Missouri game...Youngblood moved into the starting lineup late in the season; he started five of the 12 contests overall and was a co-starter for the season with Matt Bailey...Youngblood and Simmons also teamed up for scoring passes against Wake Forest (30 yards) and Duke (38 yards)...played at least 40 snaps in each of the last five games, but he only caught five passes in those games...fifth on the team in total catches; he was fourth in yards...developed into one of Clemson’s top special-teams players at the end of the season; he had eight tackles on punt coverage in the last four games, including two plays in which he stopped the punt returner for negative yardage...had two special-teams tackles in the Gator Bowl against Virginia Tech...had one catch for four yards in the Gator Bowl...had two receptions for 42 yards, including a 27-yarder against South Carolina...also had a tackle for loss on punt return coverage in that game...had an outstanding spring for the second year in a row...had 11 catches for 142 yards in the 2001 Spring Game, a Clemson Spring Game record for receptions and the second-most yardage...has a 39-inch vertical jump; it comes in handy when he is looking for deep balls...was the tallest receiver on the Clemson team at 6’5”...from the same high school as former Tigers and current NFL players Brian Dawkins (1992-95) and Patrick Sapp (1992-95), and former All-ACC Tiger receiver Terrance Roulhac (1983-86).

In 1999: Red-shirted as a true freshman...had the top receiving stats of all players in the spring of 2000; he had 18 catches for 289 yards combined in three spring scrimmages.

In High School: Had 18 receptions and seven touchdown catches as a senior at Raines High School in Jacksonville, FL...one of at least six players in his senior class to sign with Division I teams, as Raines High had one of the most talented senior classes in the country during the 1998 season according to SuperPrep...named an honorable mention all-american according to Southeastern Recruiting Alliance...he lettered three times in football...coached by Welton Coffey at Raines High...lettered in track as well...won the state championship in the long jump as a junior with a leap of 23’6”...was the state runner-up in the high jump as a junior with a jump of 6’7”...also anchored the state champion 4x100 (40.86) and 4x400 (3:21) relay teams as a junior to help garner all-state honors...chose Clemson over Alabama, Syracuse, and Virginia...born Kevin G. Youngblood on Nov. 22, 1980...earned his degree in human resource development in August of 2003.
