Overview Clemson’s starting tailback over the course of the season…started the opener against Georgia and led the Tigers in rushing in defensive struggle with 35 yards…missed the next three games with a stress reaction in a foot…back in the starting lineup at Florida State and he started seven of the last eight games…Clemson’s top rusher each of the last six games…that included a 106-yard performance at North Carolina, his career high…also had a touchdown and two catches for 27 yards in that game…finished the regular season strong with 15 carries for 66 yards in win over South Carolina…added two rushing touchdowns, including a four-yard run that gave Clemson the lead in the fourth quarter…also had three catches for 18 yards…had 11 receptions for 96 yards, the yardage figure was the high by a Clemson running back this year…second on the Clemson team in rushing yards overall with 536 yards, but first in yards per game with 53.6 per game…sixth in the ACC in rushing yards per game…had six touchdowns for the season, including one against Georgia in the opener…had double figures in carries in each of the last six regular season games… has 304 carries and 11 total touchdowns for his career…has started 12 of his 39 game appearances…has made the most of his work in bowl games…while he was the backup for most of his first three seasons, he saw a lot of time in bowl games…had 70 yards rushing against Mississippi State in 1999 Peach Bowl and 101 yards rushing against Louisiana Tech in the Humanitarian Bowl that closed the 2001 season…also played 40 snaps against Virginia Tech in 2000 Gator Bowl… has 178 career rushing yards in his first three bowl games, an average of 60 yards per bowl game…averages just 31 yards per game in his 35 regular season games…had 101 yards rushing and 77 receiving in Clemson’s Humanitarian Bowl win last year…nearly became first Clemson back to rush for 100 and receive 100 in the same game…
Prior to 2002 Won the offense’s 12th man award for 2001…third on the team in rushing with 368 yards… had 67 yards rushing in 11 attempts against Florida State, he had a 60-yard run on a “Puntrooski” called back by a penalty…that was his high figure in a game since 1999 Peach Bowl when he had 70 yards rushing against Mississippi State’s strong defense…also had 8-43 rushing in win at NC State, a 5.4 yard average in that game…top special teams tackler on the club with 10 stops...had strong 6-35 performance against Duke to close the regular season… second-team running back behind All-ACC back Travis Zachery... fourth on the team in rushing in 2000 with 222 yards in 65 attempts... also worked as a kick returner at the end of the season, he had 2-31 against South Carolina and 2-39 in the Gator Bowl against Virginia Tech...had a season high 51 yards rushing in 9 attempts against The Citadel in 2000...had 6-46 and two rushing touchdowns in the win over Wake Forest... doubled his touchdown total in 2000 over his freshman year...
