State, as he had three tackles, including a caused fumble...handled kickoff-return duties for the first six games, then moved aside when he became more of a factor on defense.

2004: Never was 100 percent physically...played in nine games, including two as a starter (Virginia, Utah State)...missed the Wake Forest and Georgia Tech games due to the injury...had his best game against Utah State when he had 21 carries for 82 yards and a touchdown; also had 20 receiving yards in that game, giving him 102 all-purpose yards for the contest, his only 100-yard game of the year...had a solid all-around game in the win over South Carolina; he had 13 carries for 43 yards and three receptions for 34 yards...caught a touchdown pass against Virginia, one of his three receptions in that game...despite his limited playing time, he was second on the team in rushing (284)...fourth on the club in all-purpose yards (409).

2003: Clemson's top rusher with 615 yards...fourth-leading receiver with 34 catches for 309 yards and three touchdowns, second-most receptions in a season by a Tiger running back...joins Travis Zachery as the only Clemson running backs in history with at least 600 yards rushing and 300 yards receiving in the same season; Zachery did it in 2000...third on the team in touchdown receptions; he had five touchdowns overall (counting the rushing scores)...scored a rushing touchdown in the Peach Bowl win when he took an eight-yard option pitch for the score on Clemson's opening drive against #6 Tennessee; also had four receptions against the Volunteers...twice he made alert plays to pick up a fumble and move the ball forward; actually scored on a fumble recovery and run for a nine-yard touchdown against Furman...he recovered a fumble by offensive tackle William Henry, who had caught a batted ball; so Coleman got credit for a reception touchdown...had 924 yards from scrimmage...ended the year with a streak of eight straight games with at least three catches...had at least one catch in 11 of the 13 games...caught touchdown passes against Furman, Middle Tennessee, and South Carolina...had 13 carries for 86 yards at Georgia Tech, which proved to be a breakout game; he also scored his only other rushing touchdown of the season in that game; it came on a 25-yard run...had a 50-yard run against North Carolina...improved his yards per carry dramatically during the season; he had 47 carries for 279 yards over the last five regular-season games...had 13 carries for 111 yards against North Carolina, one of only two 100-yard rushing performances by a Tiger in the 2003 season; also had four catches for 48 yards in that game against the Tar Heels, giving him a season-best 159 yards from scrimmage; the 48 yards receiving were his season high; also named Clemson's Offensive Player-of-the-Game by the coaching staff for that performance...had five catches in the win over #3 Florida State for his high in that category...ranked eighth in the ACC in rushing, 17th in total offense, and 25th in receiving...had a solid performance against #24 Virginia, with eight carries for 48 yards and three receptions for 31 yards...a starter in seven of the 13 games; he came off the bench in the last three games when Chad Jasmin came on strong...played 505 snaps, more than any other Tiger running back.
